Michael Finch, a dedicated maintenance worker at the MSU Facility housing, is being recognized as a Safety Dawg after being nominated by Jesse McCarter for his unwavering commitment to safety. Here is what Jesse had to say:

"Michael's approach to his job is exemplary, as he consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the well-being of himself and those around him. 
From the moment he arrives on the job, Michael's safety-minded mindset is evident in everything he does. He is meticulous in his cleaning routines, meticulously picking up any potential hazards and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. This proactive approach creates a safer environment and demonstrates Michael's genuine care for the people he serves. Whether it's a leaking pipe, a pesky snake, or any other maintenance issue, the residents of the MSU housing know they can rely on Michael to handle the situation with the utmost care and attention to detail.
 
But Michael's dedication to safety extends far beyond his official job duties. On numerous occasions, he has gone out of his way to assist students in need, such as changing flat tires or coming to the aid of a handicapped student whose motorized wheelchair had malfunctioned, putting them in a precarious situation. In this instance, Michael's quick thinking and willingness to help prevented a potentially dangerous situation from escalating, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the entire community.
 
Through his meticulous work ethic, vigilance in identifying and addressing potential safety concerns, and genuine concern for the people he serves, Michael Finch has truly embodied the spirit of the safety dog award.
